The WAC membership comes with a few benefits we think you’ll like. There’s the extensive English library offering a wide variety of books for every reader. We even have early reader books! There are DVDs available for rental with new titles being introduced regularly. Members can also rent out the WAC clubroom at special rates for personal parties or classes. Reduced admission rates for playgroups, classes and events are also available only for members. WAC membership is required in order to enroll at the Learning Tree Cooperative School. As a WAC member, you can place a classified advert (up to 30 words) in our magazine free of charge.
Everyone is welcome but becoming a member has its advantages. Join now!

We offer three different playgroups that provide fun activities for children and babies to experience while developing sensory, social and communication skills. Our playgroups also give moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, children, and babies from all different nationalities a great way to meet together in a relaxed and friendly English-speaking environment.
The Potluck is a bi-monthly event that takes place in the club room at the WAC. It is a pot luck style dinner for members to share an evening without kids. Themes rotate and each attendee is responsible for contributing a part of the meal. Past themes have been British, Lebanese, Australian and Paleo.
Readers Gone WACky
The Readers Gone WACky is a group of readers who meet on a regular basis to discuss a selected book. Members meet approximately once a month at 8PM on a Wednesday evening at the WAC club space. Books are selected twice a year based on members’ suggestions. The Readers Gone WACky currently consists of about 10 members from several different countries. Please contact Alice Knoepfel or call 044 912 23 26 or if you would like to join us.
Clubs and Courses
Each year the WAC is able, through the organizational skills of our member volunteers, to offer a wide variety of classes, clubs and groups for children and adults. Some of our regular offerings for adults include German and English language classes. Clubs bring an opportunity for members with common interests to come together. (Book Club, Girls Club, Boys Club, Potluck Club, Dinner Club Craft Evenings etc).
For many years, the WAC has been able to offer an English library to its members. A wide variety of adult fiction and non-fiction books are available as well as an ever-expanding selection of children’s picture books, readers, and fiction. In addition to our books, we also have an extensive collection of DVDs for adults and children. Regular new arrivals mean you will always have something to watch this weekend!
Volunteers open the library at scheduled times so that members can check out books and DVDs at a time that is convenient for them. Working as a library volunteer is a great way to get involved with the club. If you are interested, contact our Library Chairperson for more information on how you can help.
The Library is open on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30-5pm and at various other times during the week. See the WAC calendar for when we're open this month.
